Use the Scales Tab of the Gauge Designer dialog (figure 1 below) to set scale-related properties of the main gauge.
Scales are either circular or linear in nature, and a scale's values can be pointed to by an associated pointer. See the Scales topic for more information.

This tab will not be displayed if the main gauge element is an indicator (only circular and linear gauges can have sub-gauges). |
Scales
This listbox displays all scales of the control.
Use the
and
buttons to
respectively add and delete scales.
Minimum
Determines the starting value of the scale. This can be any valid report expression, as long as it equates to a numerical value. In
addition a Gauge statistical formula can be applied by clicking on the
icon if an expression is used.
Maximum
Determines the end value of the scale. This can be any valid report expression, as long as it equates to a numerical value. In addition
a Gauge statistical formula can be applied by clicking on the
icon if an
expression is used.
Labels Interval
If the Automatic checkbox is checked then the interval of the scale labels will be calculated automatically.
De-selecting this checkbox will result in the display of a numeric spin control that lets you explicitly set the interval of labels.
Width
Determines the width of the scale.
For circular scales the width is measured as a percentage of the scale's radius. For linear scales it is measured as a percentage of the associated linear gauge's width.
Circular Scale Properties
Start Angle
Determines the angle at which the start point of the scale is plotted. The specified angle must be positive, and is applied clockwise, starting from the 180 degree position.
Sweep Angle
Determines the angle from the start point of the scale to the end point of the scale. The specified angle must be positive, and is applied clockwise, starting from the 180 degree position of the scale.
Radius
Determines the radius of scale. Measured as a percentage of the circular gauge's width, starting from the center of the gauge to the edge of the scale.
Linear Scale Properties
Start Margin
Use the spin control to set the start margin. The start margin is measured as a percentage of the linear gauge's length, and starts from the bottom of the gauge to the beginning of the scale.
End Margin
Use the spin control to set the end margin. The end margin is measured as a percentage of the linear gauge's length, and starts from the top of the gauge to the end of the scale of the scale.
Position
Determines the position of the scale, relative to the linear gauge.
The position is measured as a percentage of the control's width.
