This tab will not be displayed if the main gauge element is an indicator (only circular and linear gauges can have sub-gauges).

A range is used to visually represent a set of values on a scale (see figure below), and every range is associated with one scale. By default this scale is called "Default".

Ranges

This listbox displays all ranges utilized by the Gauge control.

Use the Add and Delete buttons to respectively add and delete ranges to and from the control.

Start Value

Determines the starting point of the range, measured as a value of its associated scale.

This can be any valid report expression (click on the  icon), as long as it equates to a numerical value. In addition a Gauge statistical formula can be applied by clicking on the Gauge Formula Icon icon if an expression is used.

End Value

Determines the end point of the range, measured as a value of its associated scale.

This can be any valid report expression, as long as it equates to a numerical value. In addition a Gauge statistical formula can be applied by clicking on the Gauge Formula Icon icon if an expression is used.

Associated with Scale

A range is always associated with a scale, since it is the purpose of a range to highlight a portion of a scale.

You can associate the range with a scale by using the provided listbox.

Ranges are similar to gauges, pointers and scales, in that there are two types of ranges: circular and linear.

Placement to Scale

This determines the positioning of a range, relative to its associated scale. Possible values are inside, outside or across the scale.

Appearance

Clicking on the Appearance... button will display the Range Appearance Dialog (see figure below). Use this dialog to set fill and border appearance properties of the range.
