How to deploy Dundas Reporting Services components to a remote server

Q. How do I deploy my Dundas components for Reporting Services to my SQL Server Report Server?

A. If you are using SQL Server Reporting Services on the same machine that you are using for developing reports, you don't need to take any additional steps to deploy to this report server.

If you want to deploy your reports to a machine other than your development machine, this can be achieved with the following steps:

  1. Go to your Report Server Machine.
  2. Copy the files DundasRSChart.dll, DundasRSGauge.dll, DundasRSMap.dll and/or DundasRSCalendar.dll to the ReportServer\bin folder of SQL Server. This is usually found at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin".
  3. Copy the program RSChartInstaller.exe, installed in our Tools directory, to the report server machine and run it. Select the button "Configure Server".
  4. Deploy your reports.

If the component doesn't work after these steps, you can check the 2 configuration files. You can find more information about these files here.

If you are using a 64-bit edition of Windows on your report server, extra steps may need to be taken. Please see the articles for the appropriate products below, and modify the two configuration files listed in the Microsoft SQL Server folder:
Dundas Chart for Reporting Services
Dundas Gauge for Reporting Services
Dundas Map for Reporting Services
Dundas Calendar for Reporting Services
